Prevention Education Associates is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality school-based prevention programs. Last year we served administrators, teachers, and students from well over 600 schools in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Listed below is a brief summary of the prevention and intervention programs and services that Prevention Education Associates offers:.
| Peer Helping - Peers Accepting Learning & Sharing (PALS) is a
school-based peer helping program which can be structured at the high school, middle
school (junior high), and elementary levels. |
| Peer Mediation - Positive Attitudes Coming Together (PACT) is a
school-based program in which a core group of students are trained to work as peer
mediators in resolving conflicts between other students. |
| PROJECT E.S.-TEAM – is an intensive training
retreat for identified "at-risk" youth. The program utilizes a variety of
effective strategies to teach self-esteem, decision-making skills and other pro-social
skills. |
| "Modified Ropes Course" - Team building and decision-making
training for students and staff using physical challenges and problem solving initiatives.
This training utilizes a portable low-elements ropes course which can be easily set up in
different locations. |
| Assembly Programs - Motivational and educational assembly sessions for
students. The sessions are on a variety of topics and can be tailored differently for
grades (K-12). |
| Faculty/Staff Training - In-service training workshops on a variety of
topic areas including Team Building, Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Anger Management,
Stress Management, Self-Esteem, Working with "At-Risk" Students and many others. |
| Student Assistance Program - school based program designed to help
schools identify and provide assistance to "at-risk" youth. |
| Facilitator Training – "Creating A Classroom Community"
is a session that provides group and class facilitator training featuring hands-on
activities and strategies on a variety of topics and issues. |
| Training of Trainers - (Conflict Resolution; Diversity & Anger
Management) An intensive training that will enable participants to train others in the
particular topic areas listed above. This can be a one-day training or a three days
series. |
